$5,200

It's a 1953 Studebaker 2 door hardtop with the champion flathead 6 with 3 speed overdrive. I bought it from an elderly gentlemen in Wisconsin. He had owned the Stude over 10 years. He had bought it from the estate of a friend of his that had restored the car. He said that the Stude was restored over 30 years ago. Since that time it has only been driven a little over 2000 miles. Started out as a very solid body. Engine was rebuilt. Complete interior was pulled out to redo including the dash. Brake system was gone through. New tires. Repainted burgandy with white top. The guy I got it from drove the Stude home about 5 miles 10 years ago and since then has never left his farm. He said about 3 to 4 times a summer he would drive it out of the garage and let it warm up and wash it. Then put the Stude back in the garage. When I got the Stude home I cleaned the carb put some new gas in the tank and let it warm up to check everything over. Engine sounds real strong and no noises. I took it down the road 5 miles and back and ran out real good. I noticed the overdrive is not working. When you pull the handle out it will free wheel when you let off the throttle but the solenoid isn't working. Tires are weathered. There is a chip in the paint behind the hood on the cowl (hood rubs when opened, have picture). Very front edge of hood has 2 very small bubbles in paint (inside edge of hood very solid). Right behind the doors on top edge of rear fenders there is some very small bubbles in paint (have picture of one side). Rocker on passenger side has very small bubbles in paint (have picture) can't see them unless you get right down on ground and look. I have driven the car about 40 miles over the summer. It starts good. The battery is old so it will need to be replaced soon. Gauges work including the gas gauge. None of the lights are working except the brake lights. I asked the last owner about that and he said they didn't work when he got the car. I just had a hip replaced last year so I wasn't able to check that out. IF none of the lights work that would mean the main wire to the dash is unhooked some place. That might be why the overdrive doesn't work either. Interior is very nice on the Stude. Doors have had new rubber mouldings installed. They shut a little hard. A lot of the chrome has been redone. Backup lights are not original to the car. Exhaust is in good condition. Floors of the Stude are very solid (have pictures). All windows in the car are good. Burgandy paint on the car has a few scuffs in it from age. I talked to a body shop that said they could computer match the paint to touch up the few problems it has. It's a good driver quality paint. White paint on the roof is very nice.
